China Extends Support to Pakistan in Combatting Terrorism

In the aftermath of the devastating incident, the Chinese government has urged the Pakistani authorities to bolster security measures to ensure the safety of its citizens.

Following a tragic suicide bombing in Besham, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan resulting in the deaths of five Chinese nationals, Beijing has extended a helping hand to Islamabad in combating terrorism.

In the aftermath of the devastating incident, the Chinese government has urged the Pakistani authorities to bolster security measures to ensure the safety of its citizens.

Colonel Wu Qian, spokesperson for the China Ministry of National Defense, expressed willingness for collaborative efforts between the Chinese military and Pakistan to bolster their capabilities in addressing various security threats, particularly terrorist attacks, and to jointly uphold regional peace and stability.

Additionally, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson emphasized the importance of Pakistan strengthening security protocols to safeguard Chinese nationals, as well as Chinese projects and institutions within the country.

A Chinese investigative team is currently in Islamabad, cooperating with Pakistani authorities to delve deeper into the terrorist attack.

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi visited the Chinese Consulate in Islamabad to meet with the Chinese investigative team, providing updates on the ongoing investigation and reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to assisting in bringing the perpetrators of the attack to justice.

Political analyst Adnan Shauqat highlighted the potential for expanded military cooperation between Pakistan and China in the wake of the Besham attack, citing the strong historical ties between the two nations.

Both countries' militaries have a history of close collaboration, including joint military exercises, professional exchanges, personnel training, and technological cooperation.

The recent display of solidarity between Pakistan and China was evident during the Pakistan Day Parade on March 23, where a 36-member PLA Guard of Honour marched alongside the Chinese national flag.

Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, reiterated China's stance against terrorism and pledged unwavering support to Pakistan in its counterterrorism efforts, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions in Pakistan.
