Following the dismissal of openers KL Rahul (3) and Rohit Sharma (0) early in Powerplays, the India skipper played with a "great sense of responsibility", scoring 57 off 49 deliveries to at least give his side a fighting total of 151/7. However, Pakistan, riding on a superb bowling performance from paceman Shaheen Afridi (3/31) and an unbeaten opening partnership of 152 runs between Mohammad Rizwan (79 not out) and Babar Azam (68 not out), scored a 10-wicket win over India.
T20 World Cup: We know exactly where the game went wrong, says Kohli

"As a team, we need to understand that what was the reality of the situation out there in the middle. That's where those 20-25 extra runs would have been good. But brilliant bowling in the first six, did not allow us to get those extra runs. We know exactly how the game went and where it went wrong. We have absolute clarity of it, which is a good thing to know about where you went wrong as a team," said Kohli in the post-match press conference on Sunday.

Kohli loses cool at umpire Sharma; square-leg umpire intervenes

In the do-or-die game, Knight Riders, the two-time IPL champions, defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets with two balls remaining, thus leaving Kohli, playing his last game for RCB as skipper, frustrated. Following a below-par batting performance where the entire top order was gobbled up by KKR spinner Sunil Narine, Kohli was under pressure when his team came out to bowl and defend 138 runs.

Narine ran through the RCB batting line-up, snaring the wickets of the well-set Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, South African stalwart AB de Villiers and Srikar Bharat, as he returned figures of 4-0-21-4 to guide the two-time IPL champions to a four-wicket win on Monday.
IPL: Time to regroup and restructure RCB as captain Kohli fails
IANS -
One of the biggest criticisms of Kohli has been his decision-making that has played a major role in deciding the outcome of his team's campaign at ICC events, or in IPL as well. For all his stunning success as a batsman, the 32-year-old can never claim to have mastered the art of captaincy in white-ball cricket. On Monday, the stylish cricketer played his last match for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a captain. The Red Devils lost a close contest to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 Eliminator in Sharjah, thereby ending the hopes of RCB to win the cup under Kohli's captaincy.
We have a lot of confidence on our team: Virat Kohli on eliminator clash
IANS -
"We have a lot of confidence on our team. If not the top two spot (on the points table), then we will have to win two more matches to reach the Final, and we are fully prepared for that. You prepare for all kinds of possibilities, and the way I see it, Qualifiers and Eliminators are just terms that exist to create more pressure for these matches," Kohli said.
