Bengal BJP divided over allowing Mukul Roy re-entry into party

The question doing the rounds is whether the re-entry of Roy into the party will be of any help to the saffron camp in the coming days. According to state BJP President and Lok Sabha MP Sukanta Majumdar, Roy's re-inclusion in the party will depend on the decision of the party high command.

One important condition for retaining the national party status is that the political party concerned should have two per cent of the total Lok Sabha seats and that should be from three Indian states. In case of Trinamool Congress, although it has more than two per cent of the total Lok Sabha seats, they are all from the single state of West Bengal.
Trinamool may take legal recourse after EC withdraws its national party status

Just a one-liner came from party spokesman Kunal Ghosh, who said that it is too early to make any comment on the ECI's decision. "The party leadership will review the development before making any detailed statement in this matter," Ghosh said. Senior Trinamool leader and three-time Lok Sabha MP Saugata Roy, while claiming that the party leadership will take a final decision in this matter, said that the ECI's decision will surely be opposed.
Bengal Raj Bhavan issues notification on direct control over state varsities

As per the notification, the state universities will have to take the concurrence of the Raj Bhavan in case of any financial related matters. The Vice Chancellors have also been asked to submit weekly report on the overall functioning of the universities. As per system followed so far generally the state universities take crucial decisions like appointment-related or financial matters through the state Education Department and the latter sends the matter for the concurrence of the Governor.

As soon as the House reconvened at 2 p.m after the first adjournment, Rajendra Agrawal, who was in the chair, allowed laying of papers even as Opposition members rushed to the well, shouting slogans and showing placards, seeking a probe in the Adani matter.
