Intense protest outside Congress HQ, several leaders detained

The party workers were protesting against the questioning of their president Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate. Several barricades have been placed to prevent the Congress workers from taking out any kind of march towards the ED office. The party workers, raising slogans, attempted to cross the barricades and were subsequently detained by police.
'Ailing Sonia being harassed' says Cong

Addressing a press Conference here, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "She is not keeping well for many years. When the same things were asked to Rahul Gandhi for five days what was the need for this." Leader of opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said, "ED is harassing our leader despite her not keeping well."
Sonia Gandhi summoned again on Wednesday

Wednesday will be the third day of her questioning. On Tuesday she was questioned for almost six hours in two sessions. Earlier in the day, she arrived at the ED headquarters at 11 a.m. along with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi who was carrying a medicine box. After three hours of questioning Sonia Gandhi was allowed a lunch break. She again joined the probe at around 4 p.m.

"Look at the dictatorship, cannot hold peaceful demonstrations, cannot discuss inflation and unemployment. By misusing the police and agencies, even by arresting us, you will never be able to silence us. Only 'Truth' will end this dictatorship," Rahul tweeted. The former Congress president was detained by the Delhi Police and taken to some unknown location in a bus along with other parliamentarians.

Sonia Gandhi had problem while speaking during ED grilling

Sources said that Sonia Gandhi is suffering post Covid complications and she had problems while speaking. Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi had told ED officials that her mother doesn't keep well, and she was looking after her medicines. She said that she would assist her mother due to her poor health. She had requested the officials to let her be present in the ED office during her questioning which was accepted.

After the first round of interrogation, the Congress interim president left for lunch break with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, when the ED sent her fresh summons calling her again. Earlier in the day, Sonia reached the ED's headquarters at around 12.10 p.m and was questioned by a team of additional director Monika Sharma.

Herald case: Priyanka seeks ED's permission to assist ailing Sonia

According to sources, Priyanka told the ED officials that since her mother does not keep well, she takes care of the medicines and hence her presence is required. She requested the ED officials to allow her to be present at the questioning room. Considering the Congress president's health condition, the ED has agreed to let Priyanka be around her mother but in a separate room.
