Earlier, a MBC society (most backward classes including Gurjar, Rebari, Raika, Dewasi, Gadaria, Banjara, Gadri, Gayari, Gadolia Luhar) meeting was held at Pushkar's Mela Ground. As soon as Minister of State for Sports Ashok Chandna came to deliver his speech, people started protesting by hurling shoes and other items. Supporters started raising slogans of "Sachin Pilot Zindabad".

Sharing the experience of his recent ED grilling with the party workers at the AICC headquarters in Delhi on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi said: "The ED officials asked me about the patience with which I answered their questions... I'm in Congress since 2004, patience is inculcated in us and every leader of the party understands this. Congress party teaches patience. I am working since 2004, Sachin Pilot is sitting here, Siddaramaiah ji is here."

"Even when (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi was not there (in the Centre), the Congress government could not be repeated. We have to accept the fact that once we were left with only 50 MLAs, and next time, we were left with 21 MLAs. What is the reason that people give majority of votes to our party but then next time, we are unable to repeat the government in Rajasthan?" the Congress leader said

Sachin Pilot has been vying for the Chief Minister's post, but Ashok Gehlot has the confidence of Sonia Gandhi. Time and again, Pilot's MLAs have been targetting their own government. The top leadership of the party in Delhi has been upset with this. Sources say all this will be decided after Rajya Sabha polls and preparations for 2023 Assembly polls will also begin.

Hoardings and posters were put up by Pilot's supporters around the hotels, airport and in other areas of Udaipur to welcome him. However, late on Wednesday night, and on Thursday morning, the hoardings and posters were removed from different areas of the city, said Pilot's supporters.

Sachin Pilot discussed issues related to the committee which was formed after his rebellion from the Congress. While sources say that Pilot was happy with the outcome of the meeting, it was not clear what assurances were made to him and his return as state President - a post he was stripped of along with his Deputy Chief Ministership - was discussed or not.

Pilot, who is eyeing a comeback in the state politics since he revolted against the Ashok Gehlot government, is likely to be entrusted an organisational role very soon. The BJP has been on attacking mode since the clashes broke out between two groups in Karauli. The state government has claimed that it has taken strict action but the Opposition is continuing with its attacking stance. The BJP on Friday said that it seems like "there is Taliban rule in the state".

A few days after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that he had lobbied for Sachin Pilot as Union Minister in UPA-2, the latter on Wednesday said that he had ensured a ticket for his son Vaibhav Gehlot in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections."The high command was not very much in favor of this ticket, because a single name had come from Jodhpur, whose father was the sitting Chief Minister, so at that time I advocated Vaibhav's case.
