Chhattisgarh Congress on a strong wicket, but Singh Deo can play spoiler

Amid a full-blown crisis in Rajasthan between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot over the post of Chief Minister after the former withdrew his candidature for the Congress presidential polls, Chhattisgarh is presently the only state left where the grand old party is not facing an internal rebellion.
Did Gehlot meet Sonia with papers detailing allegations against Pilot?

On his way to Sonia Gandhi's residence, cameras caught Gehlot carrying a paper in his hand that had details mentioning 'hooliganism' at the Pilot camp, from colluding with the BJP to leaving the party. Gehlot had taken a hand-written paper, which contained allegations against Pilot, along with an apology. It was written in the paper -- 'Sachin Pilot will leave the party'.
Digvijaya finally joins race for AICC chief, but uncertainty still persists

The Madhya Pradesh Congress seems to have united to support Digvijaya Singh. More importantly, hours after Digvijaya Singh took the nomination form from the party headquarters in New Delhi and announced that he would file his nomination for the AICC president's election, state Congress head and ex-chief minister Kamal Nath called a meeting of Congress leaders at his residence in Bhopal and asked them to reach Delhi to back Digvijaya Singh.

Ahead of this meeting, Sonia Gandhi's emissary Mukul Wasnik met Gehlot. The Sonia-Gehlot meeting gains significance as the MLAs loyal to Ashok Gehlot had boycotted the Congress Legislature Party meeting in Jaipur on September 25.
R'than crisis: Cong serves show-cause notice to Dhariwal, Joshi and Rathore

The notice issued to Dhariwal said that he, being Parliamentary Affairs Minister, has committed "grave indiscipline" by hosting a parallel MLAs meeting at his residence and thus "pressuring MLAs not to attend the official meeting". "As Parliamentary Affairs Minister, hosting the unofficial meeting confused the Congress MLAs as to which one was convened officially," the notice reads.

They said that they support the high command and have no issues with Pilot as the Chief Minister, while some of them said that they were clueless as to why they were made to sign on paper. Bamanwas MLA Indira Meena said: "I signed on a paper. But I didn't know what it was." She said it will be good if Pilot becomes CM.

Both the state's BJP unit president and Deputy Leader of Opposition submitted that the Speaker should have accepted the resignations being given by the party MLAs. BJP state president Satish Poonia on Monday said: "If Congress MLAs resigned voluntarily and consciously, then Assembly speaker C.P. Joshi should have accepted it... the people of the state are suffering due to the discord in the Congress."

Ashok Gehlot, who is set to file papers for the Congress Presidential election, was tipped to quit in favour of Sachin Pilot but his supporters came out strongly against it, and the Congress legislature party meet on Sunday had to be called off.
