Fuel rates hiked again, petrol at Rs 105.84/ltr in Delhi

The price of petrol in Delhi rose to its highest-ever level of Rs 105.84 a litre and Rs 111.77 per litre in Mumbai, according to a price notification of the state-owned fuel retailers. In Mumbai, diesel now comes for Rs 102.52 a litre; while in Delhi, it costs Rs 94.57. Diesel prices have now increased 19 out of the last 23 days taking up its retail price by Rs 5.95 per litre in Delhi.
Petrol, diesel prices rise on hold for 2nd consecutive day

Accordingly, in the national capital, petrol continues to be sold at Rs 104.44 per litre and diesel at Rs 93.17 per litre, the same levels as Tuesday In India's financial capital, Mumbai, where petrol became costlier by 29 paise per litre on Monday, the retail rates remain static at Rs 110.41 on Wednesday, the highest across all the four metro cities. Diesel also costs Rs 101.03 for one litre in Mumbai.

Petroleum taxes to take govt's excise collections to historic high levels in FY22

As per latest government data, central excise duty collection has already touched Rs 1,37,236 crore till August in FY22. This is a growth of almost 37 per cent over Rs 1,00,398 crore excise revenue collected by the Centre in the first five months of FY21.
Rising fuel prices accelerate demand for CNG vehicles

"Demand for CNG vehicles remains strong, benefiting from surging fuel prices and increased CNG penetration in newer cities," said Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL). "Inventory in the system is 10-20 days." According to MOFSL, the retail demand evolution has been a mixed bag since the lifting of the second lockdown from mid-June 2021.
