According to an Ola Electric spokesperson, 8,206 Ola Electric scooters have been registered under ANI Technologies for its e-bike, parcel, and other delivery services. The report suggests that the number of e-scooters sold to Ola Cabs' parent and its subsidiaries between April 2022 and December 2023 was even higher, around 12,000 units.

Bajaj Auto (11.1 per cent, +57 bp) gained the most market share, while Ola lost the most, followed by Okinawa, according to BNP Paribas India EV report–October 2023.

The images, likely to be of Ola S1X e-scooter, were part of an auto media event the company held on Monday "and content from this event was supposed to be embargoed and confidential", according to Aggarwal.

In a tweet, Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Ola, said the company has dispatched electric scooters to all its buyers.

First announced on August 15, Ola Electric on December 15 announced that it has begun deliveries of its e-scooters -- Ola S1 and S1 Pro. The company also organised special events for the first 100 customers in Bengaluru and Chennai for the deliveries of Ola S1 and S1 Pro e-scooters. Now, some of the owners have complained about teething issues, and lack of pre-delivery inspection (PDI), among others, on social media platforms.

Ola Cars will enable consumers to purchase both new and pre-owned vehicles through the Ola App. "Customers are looking for a new way to buy, service and sell their vehicles. They are no longer satisfied with the archaic retail store mode," said Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Ola.

"In total over 2 days, we have done over Rs 1,100 crore in sales! This is unprecedented not just in the automotive industry but it is one of the highest sales in a day (by value) for a single product in Indian e-commerce history! We truly are living in a digital India," the company claimed in a statement tweeted on Friday.

Ola has sold more than the entire 2-wheeler industry put together on Wednesday, Agarwal said. He further stated that the last bookings for the new scooters are opened till Thursday midnight following which the sale will be closed. Ola Electric is the all-electric branch of the indigenous rideshare company Ola Cabs based in Bangalore.

Agarwal’s announcement came two days after the launch of the Ola Electric scooter on the eve of 75th Independence Day. The CEO of Ola Electric said that the manufacturers need to make investments to leverage the ecosystem and turn India into an Electric Vehicle hub in the future.
