Agarwal’s announcement came two days after the launch of the Ola Electric scooter on the eve of 75th Independence Day. The CEO of Ola Electric said that the manufacturers need to make investments to leverage the ecosystem and turn India into an Electric Vehicle hub in the future.

The electric scooter will be rolled out of its factory in Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu.
Ola planning to home deliver its Series S electric scooter

The pre-order for the all-new Series S electric scooter began with a reservation price of Rs 500. With the innovation in technology, Ola also decided to change the delivery system from the traditional in-store purchase to direct payment and delivery service. This mechanism will provide Ola with much more efficiency, savings from logistical methods of showrooms and sales networks.

Ola Electric opened the reservation for its electric scooter on the evening of July 15. It can be reserved for Rs 499 via its official website -- olaelectric.com. "I am thrilled by the tremendous response from customers across India for our first electric vehicle. The unprecedented demand is a clear indicator of shifting consumer preferences to EVs," Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Group CEO, Ola, said in a statement.

Built over 500 acres in Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu, the Ola FutureFactory facility will roll out one scooter every two seconds at full capacity, according to Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Group CEO. It will be an integrated manufacturing facility, addressing all needs from the battery to finished goods.
