No delay in NEET PG 2022 exam, letter being circulated fake: Health Ministry

"The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India, has directed that over five thousand interns are ineligible for the exams and due to insufficient time between the counseling of previous NEET PG and exams hence conduct of NEET PG 2022 examination scheduled to be held on May 21, 2022 is to be postponed," reads the letter being circulated on social media.

The last date for receiving the application form online for the NEET-UG entrance examination is now May 15, 2022 (up to 9.00 p.m) and the last date for payment of the application fee online is May 15, 2022 (up to 11.50 pm). Until now, female candidates who had passed the class XII exam in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology were eligible to apply.

NEET is scheduled to be conducted in around 543 cities in India and 14 cities outside India. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The application fee for candidates from the general category is Rs 1600. The application fee for candidates in the General-EWS/OBC-NCL category is Rs 1500. Students from the SC/ST/PwBD/third gender categories must pay an application fee of Rs 900.

The doctors urged the minister to postpone the NEET PG 2022 for a reasonable period of time so that the current NEET PG 2021 aspirants get sufficient time to prepare for the same.

“NEET-MDS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various MDS Courses under Dentists Act, 1948 (amended from time to time). No other entrance examination, either at the state or the Institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS courses. Qualifying NEET-MDS is mandatory for entry to MDS courses under various Universities/ Institutions in the country,” read the information bulletin.
NEET PG Counselling mop-up round result announced by MCC

After all the rounds are completed MCC will publish a final list of students selected. Candidates whose names will be mentioned in the final list will have to report to their colleges allotted to them mentioned in the final result list. The students will have to report to their respective colleges till April 30, 2022, for the completion of their admission process and seat availability.

The duration of the entrance examination will be 3 hours and 20 minutes(200 minutes). The paper will comprise 200 multiple choice questions from physics, chemistry, and biology. There will be four options provided for each question. For every correct answer, there will be a +4 marking in the question and a negative marking of -1 for every incorrect answer. The paper will be held in offline mode. The candidates will be given the option to choose among 13 languages to attempt the paper.
SC orders fresh mop-up round counselling for NEET-PG 2021-22

The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled the mop-up round counselling held for All India Quota (AIQ) of the NEET-PG courses for the year 2021-22, and ordered a fresh mop-up round. A bench headed by Justice D.Y Chandrachud and comprising Justices Surya Kant and Bela Trivedi said that for 146 seats, which became available after the AIQ round 2 on March 16, 2022, a special round of counselling shall be conducted.
SC seeks DGHS response on pleas for taking part in mop-up round of NEET-PG counselling

Senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan, representing some petitioners, submitted before a bench headed by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud that after the second round of counselling, his clients were allotted the seats and later, the DGHS issued two notices to bring into the pool some seats which were not available to them. He said that hundreds of seats were added to the pool and as a result, people not on merit, were given seats, which were not available to his clients.
HC says students forced to go to Ukraine, points out PG medical vacant seats

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday remarked that students are forced to go to places such as Ukraine, pointing out the vacant seats in PG medical courses. A Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla was hearing a group of students' plea to relax cut-off percentile. Asking the Centre to submit all the details related to the fixing percentile of cut-off in NEET PG medical courses for this year, the matter was posted for hearing on March 23.
