WhatsApp rolling 'Call Link' feature on Windows beta
The new feature is available to beta testers within the calls tab, reports WABetaInfo. Users can choose the call type between voice and video, and then copy the link so that they can share it with their WhatsApp chats to invite people to join the call. The URL will be unique every time someone creates a new call link, so that no one can join users' private calls without their approval.
Meta launches new platform to remove minors' intimate images online
The social network said it financially supported the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the development of 'Take It Down', a platform that helps adults stop the spread of their intimate images online. "We've also introduced some new features that make it more difficult for suspicious adults to interact with teens on Instagram," said Antigone Davis, Global Head of Safety at Meta.

The new feature eliminates the need for third-party applications to create stickers, reports WABetaInfo.After extracting a subject out of an image, users just need to paste it within a chat to create a custom sticker from an image. If the feature is available, the platform will instantly turn the image into a sticker that can be added to the user's collection of stickers.

According to Command Line, a weekly newsletter by The Verge, Meta leadership "has been coy both internally and externally about what is coming". The report said late on Thursday that the upcoming layoffs can be "somewhere in the ballpark of the last layoff, which was about 11,000 people or 13 per cent of the company".
WhatsApp now lets users search settings on iOS beta
The new feature is released to some beta testers after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0.73 update from the TestFlight app, reports WABetaInfo. The new search bar is present within the app settings section and is designed to allow users to easily navigate through the application's settings by searching for particular settings instead of scrolling through the list.

First spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra, the new feature invites users to add a photo or video to a prompt to share what they're up to at the moment, reports TechCrunch. Only people who are added to the roll call can see other responses. Similar to BeReal, the test feature introduces a random front-and back-camera photo to social media every day in an attempt to restore authenticity, according to the report.

The new feature will give users up to 15 minutes to edit their messages to fix any mistake or include any additional information to the original message, reports WABetaInfo. This feature is currently under development and is not ready to be released to beta testers. The report further mentioned that the company might also bring a feature in a future update.
