Mamata skips PM's 'Yaas' review meeting, meets Modi personally
The review meeting snowballed into a political controversy after Banerjee personally met the Prime Minister before the meeting and submitted a copy of the damages caused by the cyclone to him. She even left the Air Force Station before the meeting commenced. Sources in the administration confirmed that Banerjee had asked for a separate meeting with Modi ahead of the review meeting convened by the Prime Minister.
Modi to hold review meeting with Mamata on Yaas
Before the meeting, the Prime Minister will make an aerial survey of the affected places of Odisha and West Bengal to assess the damages caused by the storm. The Chief Minister will also conduct a review meeting at Digha in East Midnapore on Saturday and come back to Kolkata on the same day.

The apex court was hearing the CBI's appeal challenging the house-arrest of four TMC leaders in the Narada case by the Calcutta High Court. Mamata to contest from Bhowanipur, sitting MLA steps down
Earlier in the day, the sitting Trinamool Congress MLA from Bhowanipur, Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, tendered his resignation to Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee, which was immediately accepted. Speaker Banerjee said in a statement, "Chattopadhyay has resigned on his own will and he has not been forced to do so. So, I accept the resignation."

It is learnt that Banerjee did not allow the district magistrate of North 24 Parganas to speak at the meeting. The BJP claimed that Banerjee said she will speak but Banerjee said she was insulted as a Chief Minister.

The CBI accused the trio of misconduct and creating obstruction in the investigation. A division bench presided by Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal fixed the matter for hearing on Wednesday. The CBI in their petition prayed for transfer of the case raising concerns about the possibility of carrying out investigation peacefully in the state.

The letter comes immediately after the CBI arrested four Trinamool leaders, including two ministers, a former minister and a former Mayor in the Narada scam, on Monday.
