The US has expressed concerns over the incident and deteriorating relations between India and Canada on the issue, US media reports said. 

Speaking to world leaders at the high-level annual session of the General Assembly on Tuesday, he said: "We need to be able to break the gridlock that too often stymies progress and blocks consensus on the Council. We need more voices and more perspectives at the table."

The Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll poll released this week found the US president trailing behind GOP candidates, Donald Trump, Haley and Tim Scott but ahead of Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Automobile companies in the past few years "have seen record profits" because of the extraordinary skill and sacrifices made by UAW, the President said in remarks made at the White House.  "Those record profits have not been shared fairly, in my view, with those workers."

In an earlier setback, a plea deal earlier arrived at by Hunter Biden’s representatives and the federal Department of Justice in relation to a case of late filing of taxes and gun possession, had fallen apart. The case is being investigated by David Weiss, a Trump-appointed US attorney of Delaware, who was continued in office by President Biden and granted complete autonomy to pursue the case.

TIME quoted impeachment experts saying the launch of an impeachment inquiry against the President has happened only a handful of times and there is less evidence implication of Biden of wrongdoing than in any of these previous inquiries that yielded no concrete results or evidence.

McCarthy had been under pressure from the right flank of the party and may have ordered the inquiry to protect himself from being ousted by these lawmakers. 

Vietnam surprised Biden on arrival by elevating the US to the highest diplomatic status as a hedge against China putting it on par with Russia and China representing a personal victory for the US President who has been pushing for this higher status as he views Vietnam as an important ally.

In a customary trip-ender news conference in Hanoi, the second leg of his tour of India and Vietnam. Biden was peppered with questions about China and President Xi Jinping, who had skipped the G20 meeting, and about Ukraine.

There is no meeting on Biden’s schedule, his officials told reporters, but there is no saying what could happen when leaders gather in a small space.
