During the 55th over of India's second innings, Jansen and Bumrah, former IPL teammates at Mumbai Indians, were seen staring at each other after the Proteas pacer bowled a short-pitched delivery in a fiery barrage. The action didn't stop after the delivery was bowled as Jansen and Bumrah exchanged words, forcing the umpire to step in and stop the mid-pitch war of words

"We have to keep a vision in order to know which direction we have to go ahead of the 2023 World Cup. The preparations will start from advance if some new players come or which direction we have to go. We will try to give equal opportunities to everyone. So, I think maintaining a vision is going to be very important," said Bumrah in the virtual press conference on Monday.

He said Jansen put his country over his "relationships in the IPL in the battle against the Indian pacer". Both Bumrah and Jansen were part of the Mumbai Indians squad in IPL 2021. In the second Test match, England speedster Anderson had to face a 10-ball over from Bumrah. The Indian pacer struck with a barrage of bouncers to Anderson in search of his first wicket of the match. Anderson survived the spell of Bumrah but eventually lost his wicket to Mohammed Shami.

The England No. 3 batsman, who was recalled to the Test squad for the third Test against India at Headingley and made an immediate impression with 70, says in jest that the best way to keep Bumrah out is by getting off strike.
