5 Pakistan soldiers killed in retaliatory firing by India along Line of Control

Pakistan initiated unprovoked firing and shelling targeting civilian facilities in Mankote sector of the LoC in Poonch district on Thursday. Damage was caused to civilian properties due to indiscriminate targeting of civilian facilities by the Pakistan army.
J&K police arrest terrorist associate

The police said that the accused has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Reshi, a resident of Tral. "He was involved in providing logistic support and shelter to terrorists and aiding transportation of arms, ammunition and explosive materials in Tral and Awantipora areas," the police said. The police said that incriminating materials, including 10 detonators, one wireless set, two wireless antennas, one IED remote control and contraband substance (cannabis) weighing five kg have been recovered from his possession.

37 DDC constituencies in J&K to go for polls in 5th phase

Addressing a press conference, State Election Commissioner K.K. Sharma said that of 37 DDC constituencies, 17 are in the Kashmir division and 20 in the Jammu division. In the 17 DDC constituencies of Kashmir, there are 155 candidates in the fray, including 30 women, while in the Jammu division, 144 candidates, including 40 women, are contesting.
