IPL auction: Uncapped Shahrukh, Avesh, Yash Dhull, Raj Bawa likely to attract good bids

On February 12 and 13, the ten franchises will fight among themselves to fill the remaining slots. Each team can have a maximum number of 25 players and at least 18 in their squad. Amongst 590 players (370 Indian, 220 Overseas), who have registered for the auction, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped and seven belong to Associate Nations.

Sehwag said the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, and most importantly Ishan Kishan could be among the most expensive players in the mega auction and many franchises will line up to acquire their services.

A total of 47 Australians have enrolled for the IPL auction, but Starc, who was in great form with the ball and the bat during the recently-concluded Ashes series, has opted out of the mega auction. "I was a click of the button away from entering the auction but personally didn't want to spend 22 more weeks in a bubble," the 32-year-old left-hand quick has reportedly told Fox Cricket in an interview which will be telecast over the weekend, reported cricket.com.au.

Ahmedabad-based new IPL franchise to be called Gujarat Titans

The naming of the Ahmedabad franchise comes days after the Lucknow-based team announced its official name as Lucknow Super Giants. Both Ahmedabad and Lucknow are two new entrants to the IPL and were bought by CVC Capital Partners (Irelia Company Pte Ltd) and RPSG Group respectively, last October.
