India urges Nepal to check entry of Chinese, Pakistan nationals through border

SSB Director General Sujoy Lal Thaosen, who is on a five-day visit to Nepal, made this request during his meeting with Raju Aryal, Inspector General of the Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal, according to Nepali media reports. The concerns were raised during the sixth Nepal-India meeting on border security, management, and coordination, which started on Tuesday, and concluded on Thursday evening in Kathmandu.
Gen Anil Chauhan takes charge as India's Chief of Defence Staff

In his first speech as CDS, he expressed his gratitude to the forces and promised to fulfil the expectations and tackle all challenges and difficulties together. Lt Gen Chauhan (retd) succeeds the first CDS, former Army chief, Gen Bipin Rawat who had died in a helicopter crash on December 8 last year. In a career spanning over nearly 40 years, Lt Gen Chauhan has held several command, staff and instrumental appointments and had extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir and northeast India.
Indian Army invites industry for emergency procurement of critical equipment

Proposals have been invited for guns, missiles, drones, counter-drone, loiter munition, communication and optical systems, as per a series of tweets from the Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information. The Army has also invited the proposals for specialist vehicles, engineering equipment, and alternate energy resources. "In keeping with its commitment to fight the future wars with Indigenous Solutions, Indian Army invites Indian Defence Industry to offer critical defence equipment for Emergency Procurement," it announced.
Major breakthrough at PP-15 in Gogra-Hotsprings as India-China disengagement completed

Patrolling Point (PP)-15's stand-off saw the ice broken. Both sides on Monday moved back their frontline troops to the rear from the face-off site of PP-15 in the Gogra-Hotsprings area in eastern Ladakh and dismantled temporary infrastructure there as part of a five-day disengagement process. Sources close to developments averred that full details of the disengagement and the verification process were being awaited from the ground Commanders.
India-China armies to complete disengagement at Gogra-Hot Springs in Ladakh by Sep 12

Both the countries started the 16th round of Corps Commander-level talks on July 17, 2022, at Chushul Moldo meeting point in eastern Ladakh. Following this meeting, the two sides continued the dialogue to resolve related border issues. Both India and China have now agreed to move towards their respective borders in the Gogra-Hot Springs area, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

“Today, as per the consensus reached in the 16th round of India China Corps Commander Level Meeting, Indian and Chinese troops in area of Gogra-Hotsprings (PP-15) have begun to disengage in a coordinated and planned way, which is conducive to peace and tranquility in the border areas,” said a statement from the Defence Ministry.

The flight-tests were carried out against high-speed aerial targets mimicking various types of threats to evaluate the capability of the weapon systems under different scenarios, including long range medium altitude, short range, high altitude manoeuvring target, low radar signature with receding & crossing target and salvo launch with two missiles fired in quick succession, it said.
Infiltration bid foiled on LoC in J&K's Rajouri, two killed

The infiltration attempt was made Monday evening. Defence ministry spokesman, Lt. Colonel Devender Anand said, "The reconnaissance of the general area of attempted infiltration site is in progress. "In reconnaissance by Quadcopter, two bodies of infiltrators have been observed. Area is being scanned further."
