F-16 jets roar across the skies of West Bengal after two-year break

While RSAF has sent its F-16 jets, IAF is participating with Su-30 MKIs, Jaguars, Mig-29s and LCA Tejas. For now, both air forces are operating separately. The bilateral phase will commence from Wednesday when aircraft from both sides will engage in advanced air combat simulations. The bilateral phase will continue till November 18.

IAF sacks three officers for misfiring of BrahMos missile into Pakistan

The IAF in a statement said, "BrahMos missile was accidentally fired on 09 March 2022. A Court of Inquiry (CoI), set up to establish the facts of the case, including fixing responsibility for the incident, found that deviation from the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by three officers led to the accidental firing of the missile."
Indian Air Force contingent lands in Australia for Exercise 'Pitch Black 2022'

Being held for the first time since 2018 as the 2020 edition of the exercise, hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic, this year's exercise, with the focus on 'large force employment' warfare, will see over 100 aircraft and 2,500 military personnel from various air forces taking part, the Defence Ministry statement said.

The aircraft met with an accident near Barmer at 9.10 p.m. and both pilots sustained fatal injuries, the Indian Air Force (IAF) said in a tweet. The IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families, it said, adding that a court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
Chinese fighter jets continue efforts to provoke India at LAC

The provocation efforts by the Chinese side are being continued despite the matter being raised at the Corps Commander level talks. Chinese aircraft have been regularly flying close to the LAC over the past three to four weeks, which is being seen as an effort to check Indian defence mechanisms in the region.
IAF gets highest number of job applications under Agnipath scheme

It has received a total of 7,49,899 job applications under the new recruitment scheme -- the highest number in any recruitment cycle till now. Earlier, the highest number of applications received was 6,31,528 in any recruitment cycle, according to IAF. "Compared to 6,31,528 applications in the past, which was the highest in any recruitment cycle, this time 7,49,899 applications have been received", said IAF in a tweet after the registrations process ended.
