IAF's 44 Squadron to celebrate diamond jubilee in Chandigarh

The rich and glorious history of the squadron is a kaleidoscope of military history and military diplomacy of modern-day India and filled with tales of fortitude, courage, daring, devotion and professionalism which encapsulates all that IAF stands for, a statement said. The squadron was raised on April 6, 1961, and equipped with the AN-12 aircraft. It operated the AN-12 till 1985. A In March 1985, it brought the IL-76 aircraft into India, which was formally inducted into the IAF on June 16, 1985.
CDS Gen Chauhan exhorts IAF to take steps towards indigenisation

India deploys Shatrujeet Brigade close to LAC in fresh round of multi-domain military exercise

Ex Vayu Prahar was a 96-hour multi-domain air-land exercise conducted during the second week of March. It involved insertion and extraction of the Army's Special Forces at a designated Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) by C-130J Super Hercules and C-17 Globemasters of the IAF. The latest exercise involved both tactical fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft of the IAF to land/drop Special Forces in designated areas for 'undertaking kinetic actions to provide surge to ongoing operations by regular land forces', the Army's Eastern Command revealed on Thursday.
HAL hands over 100th Su-30 MKI ROH aircraft to IAF

The Signal Out Certificate (SOC) of the 100th ROH aircraft was handed over by Saket Chaturvedi, CEO (MiG Complex), HAL, to Air Vice Marshal Sarin in the presence of HAL CMD C.B.Ananthakrishnan and other senior officials. The Defence Secretary lauded HAL's efforts in taking up the challenge of setting up an ROH facility for Su-30 MKI and also for establishing a new production line for LCA manufacturing.

Mid-air scare: Nepal asks Indian authorities to take action against Air India pilots

On Friday, before landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the Air India plane from New Delhi, flying at an unauthorised height of 19,000 feet, suddenly fell to 15,000 feet. This made it almost collide with a Nepal Airlines plane coming to Kathmandu from Kuala Lumpur and the accident was averted after the Nepal Airlines pilots took down their plane to 7,000 feet.

Images and videos of the military aircraft emerging from the Airbus Defence and Space's San Pablo site, which is home to the military transport activities and the Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the four-engine turboprop-powered A400M airlifter and twin-turboprop C295, have now gone viral on social media. IAF to participate in multi-national exercise 'Cobra Warrior' in UK

This year, the IAF is participating in the exercise with five Mirage 2000 fighters, two C-17 Globemaster III and an IL-78 mid air refueller aircraft. The aim of the exercise is to participate in diverse fighter aircraft engagements and learn from the best practices of various Air Forces, the IAF said.
