Team India starts preparations for West Indies ODIs
Friday's session saw all the players in attendance barring Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer and Navdeep Saini, who are all in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19, attended the session. Though the team had a light training session on Thursday, with trainers, Friday's session was the first training session in which the players participated with full intensity. The top batters had extended stay in the nets.

The Cooper Connolly-led Australia became the third team to make it to the last-four after England and Afghanistan secured their berths earlier. Half centuries for Wylie and Miller, as well as 47 from Campbell Kellaway, helped Australia to 276/7 from their 50 overs and that proved far too much for Pakistan. Barring a 50-run partnership for the third wicket, Pakistan were always behind in their chase and eventually crumbled to 157 all out.

I always try to produce good performances for Pakistan and will continue with my efforts. There is a lot of support for others in our team. Malan, named in ICC's ODI eleven of the year, had a stunning run in 2021 with the bat, making 715 runs in 17 international matches at 47.66 Average and 101.85 strike-rate, including two centuries and three fifties. He played a total of eight ODIs and nine T20Is in the year, but it was the 50-over format where he showed his real potential.
ICC T20 World Cup 2022: India-Pakistan blockbuster at MCG on October 23
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced the fixtures for the Men's T20 World Cup 2022, with trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand set to take on Australia in the opening match of the Super 12 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on October 22. The tournament will run between October 18 and November 13, with 16 teams set to compete and seven cities to host matches across Australia.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has been given the charge of captaining the eleven which also has his countryman and Player of the Match in the inaugural World Test Championship final, Kyle Jamieson, as well. Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami named in ICC Women's ODI Team of the Year
The ICC Team of the Year, led by England's Heather Knight, recognizes the achievements of some exceptional players in women's cricket who impressed one and all with their on-field exploits in a calendar year. India's ODI skipper Mithali Raj amassed 503 runs at an average of 62.87 in 2021. Her runs came at a time when the Indian team struggled as a unit, which makes her contribution even more important.
