In a bold action under 'Operation Sindoor', India carried out airstrikes targeting several terror camps located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and inside Pakistan itself, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
In a media briefing, Colonel Sophia and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, joined by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, disclosed that the precision attacks were carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, between 1:05 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.
The action was launched on the basis of confirmed intelligence, with an objective to destroy terror infrastructure, such as training camps, indoctrination camps, and launch pads used to smuggle militants across the border.
Giving detailed information, the two officers explained how the Indian Armed Forces executed a well-planned and proportionate response, hitting the operational nerve centres of different terror groups.
Major Targets Neutralised in PoK
Sawai Nala, Muzaffarabad: Situated approximately 30 km from the Line of Control (LoC), this Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) training camp is where militants who took part in the 2024 Gulmarg attack and the April 22 Pahalgam violence were trained.
Syedna Bilal, Muzaffarabad: A Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) camp that has now been fully devastated.
Kotli Gulpur: A well-established LeT hub that was known to train operatives who were behind attacks in Rajouri and Poonch. It is the same center that was involved in last year's Amarnath pilgrims attack.
Barnala, Bimber: Located barely 9 km from the LoC, the location was used as an IED and arms depot for cross-border terrorism.
Kotli Abbas: Some 13 km from the LoC, this Lashkar training camp specialised in preparing fidayeen (suicide bombers).
Terror Facilities Targeted Within Pakistan
Sarjal, Sialkot: Approximately 6 km from the International Border, this camp was used to train the attackers involved in a March 2025 attack that resulted in the killing of five Jammu and Kashmir police personnel.
Bahawalpur: As the headquarters as well as the recruitment centre of Jaish-e-Mohammed, this was also a prominent location for radicalisation.
Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot: This Hizbul Mujahideen facility, roughly 8 km from the IB, trained handlers of attacks such as Pathankot.
Markaz Taiba, Muridke: Located between 18 to 25 km from the LOC, this base is notoriously referred to as the 26/11 Mumbai attackers' training camp, where Ajmal Kasab and David Headley were trained.
India's action is a major escalation of its anti-terror policy, a clear signal to those harboring and patronizing terror across the border.
