SC favours CA exam in July, agrees to consider opt-out option for students

A bench headed by Justice A.M. Khanwilkar said students with Covid should get opt-out option. The bench comprising Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Aniruddha Bose directed Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to present a note incorporating the court's suggestions, other deliberations and also ICAI's stand on them.

The students have written the letter urging the prime minister to take a suo-motu cognizance of the situation and postpone the exams in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. The exams are scheduled to take place in the month of July. The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) has already registered and issued admit cards for the exams.
Mamata announces cancellation of Class X, XII board exams

The evaluation process for the students will be decided by the respective boards in consultation with the expert committee and the state education department, which will be announced within seven days. "We had formed an expert committee and majority of its members are of the view that given the pandemic situation, the students should not be allowed to go to schools to appear for the exams.
Class XII board exams in late July, Class X in August: Mamata

As per the announcement, tests will be held only for the compulsory subjects, while the schools will give marks for the additional subjects based on internal assessment. "We understand the importance of these two examinations and so we are the first state to announce the schedule. Higher Secondary examination will be held ahead of Madhyamik in the last week of July."
JEE Advanced exam postponed due to surge in Covid cases

Since the JEE Mains examination could not be held at the scheduled time (May 24-28), so the JEE Advanced examination, which was going to be held on July 3, has also been postponed, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur announced. The Union Education Ministry had decided to conduct the JEE Mains examination four times in the current year.
Centre to decide on conducting Class 12 exams on Sunday

The decision will be taken in a high-level virtual meeting with Education Ministers, Education Secretaries and Chairpersons of State Examination Boards and all stakeholders of the States and Union Territories (UT), Ministry of Education said on Saturday. The meeting will be chaired by Defence Minister in presence of Union Education Minister, Union Women and Child Development Minister and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister.
All Class 10 students in Telangana declared passed

Education Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy on Friday announced the results, declaring all students who paid their fee for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams passed. "Won't cancel Class 10 and Class 12 exams," says Karnataka minister

In a statement released by the minister's office here, Kumar has appealed students who are appearing for SSLC (Class 10) and II year PU (Class 12) must not fall prey to any rumours or mischievous statements quoting him on any social media sites. Amid the ongoing onslaught of the pandemic, on May 13, Karnataka had decided to postpone the Class 10 (Secondary School Leaving Certificate - SSLC) state board examination.
Gujarat orders mass promotion for Class 10 board students

Informing the media of the decision taken in the core committee meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said: "The Board examinations for Class 10, which had been scheduled from May 10 to 25, have been cancelled considering the prevailing crisis of the corona outbreak. The state Education Department will review the situation at a later time and decide on the fate of the repeat students.
