Assam-Mizoram border dispute: Mizoram complains against Assam's 'economic blockade'

Monday's violent border clashes and firing along Assam-Mizoram border left six Assam Police personnel dead and around 100 civilians and security personnel of the two neighbouring states injured, including an Inspector General of Police in Assam and Cachar Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Chandrakant Nimbalkar.

The Assam Police's recent encroachment drive is thought to have added to the tensions that were already simmering due to the tussle between the residents of Lailapur village in Assam's Cachar district and Vairengte village in Mizoram's Kolasib district, which has now been going on for a few days already. Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a meeting of the chief ministers of all northeastern states in Shillong earlier this week to discuss border disputes.
Delhi Metro, DTC buses to operate at 100% capacity

Till now, operations were allowed with 50 per cent capacity in view of the Covid pandemic. However, with the fall in the number of cases, the restrictions have been eased. Officials said on Saturday that even as Delhi Metro has been allowed to run at 100 per cent capacity, no standing passenger will be allowed. It has also been decided to open cinemas, theatres and multiplexes in the national capital with 50 per cent capacity.
3 stations on Delhi Metro's Yellow Line shut on Saturday

DMRC officials said the decision to keep these three metro stations shut for this duration was taken "due to security reasons" but did not elaborate. "As advised by Delhi Police, in view of security reasons, three Metro stations of Yellow Line namely, Vishwavidyalaya, Civil Lines and Vidhan Sabha will remain closed for public from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. tomorrow i.e, 26.06.2021 (Saturday)," DMRC wrote in its official Twitter site.
Travelling in Delhi Metro's longest corridor to be reality soon

The DMRC informed that following the completion of civil works, the track laying process as well as overhead electrification has been initiated. "The track laying work is expected to be completed by the end of June. Preliminary trials are expected to start thereafter.
Monkey sneaked into Delhi Metro, remained in system for 3-4 minutes: DMRC

In a statement, the DMRC made it clear that the monkey entered the train at Akshardham Metro station, and that its staff acted swiftly after getting information about it and the train was evacuated at the next station. "In this connection, DMRC would like to appeal and advise passengers to refrain from encouraging, feeding or indulging in any activity which may endanger them in such a situation."
Delhi un-lockdown: Restrictions to remain till June 14

Shops in all markets in the city will be allowed to open with odd-even phases, which would be decided on the basis of shop's registration number. After the first phase of unlocking, Delhi's traders associations have been demanding to reopen markets phase wise.
Delhi Metro extends suspension of services till 'further notice'

The DMRC did not share any particular time frame for the suspension of services, in place since May 9, to held curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. "In the wake of extension of curfew in Delhi for the containment of Covid-19 by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, the Delhi Metro services on all its Lines shall also remain suspended till further notice.
Marriage only at home or court, strict rules in Delhi from Monday

"There will be complete prohibition on organising any marriage ceremony at public places/ marriage hall/banquet hall/hotels and similar places. Marriages may however be organised in Court or at home, in which not more than 20 people will be allowed to participate," an order issued on on Sunday by Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev.
Fire near DMRC's Okhla barrack, no casualty

The blaze broke out on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Later, it spread to a nearby slum and a scrapyard and then to the CISF campus. As soon as the fire reached the CISF unit, the night sentry immediately informed the CISF and Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials. Subsequently, the barrack's guard quarters and dog kennel were also evacuated in time. Fire officials were pressed into the service to douse the flames.
