Khelo India Youth Games Haryana 2021 postponed
The KIYG was originally scheduled for November-December 2021 but postponed to February due to the rise in the Covid-19 case. It is again rescheduled with the increase in numbers of the Covid-19. The event was scheduled to be held in five cities, Panchkula, Ambala, Chandigarh, Shahabad, and Delhi.
Covid infection rate rises to 25% in Delhi, 17 deaths in 24 hrs
With the new cases and deaths, the capital's tally has climbed to 15,68,896, and the death toll to 25,177. The number of active Covid cases have jumped at 65,806, highest since May 15, when there were 66,295 active Covid cases, as per the Health Department.
Covid surge: SC restores limitation extension, March 15, 2020- Feb 28, 2022 excluded
A bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and comprising Justices L. Nageswara Rao and Surya Kant, in its order, said: "The order dated March 23, 2020, is restored and in continuation of the subsequent orders dated March 8, 2021, April 27, 2021, and September 23, 2021, it is directed that the period from March 15, 2020 till February 28, 2022 shall stand excluded for the purposes of limitation as may be prescribed under any general or special laws in respect of all judicial or quasi-judicial proceedings."
Contacts of confirmed Covid 19 cases do not need testing: ICMR
"Contacts of confirmed cases of Covid-19, unless identified as high risk based on age and comorbidities, do not need to be tested," it said in an advisory on Purposive Testing Strategy for Covid-19 in India. The guidelines also underline that asymptomatic individuals in community settings don't need testing.

India's Omicron tally crosses 3,000, Maharashtra nearing 1,00-mark
As per the health ministry, the Omicron infection has spread to 27 states and UTs. However, Maharashtra and Delhi continue to be the worst-hit states. Of the total, 1,199 people have recovered from the new strain nationwide so far, it added.
India reports 495 new Omicron cases, tally reaches 2,630
Of the total, 995 people have so far recovered, the Ministry said, adding that the variant has been detected in 26 states and UTs till date. Maharashtra tops the list with 797 Omicron cases, of which 330 patients have been discharged. The state reported 144 new Omicron cases in the last 24 hours.
