Grover, who last week said in a tweet that hiring Kumar was his "biggest mistake", wrote that his exit from BharatPe has been the most publicly covered controversy of the startup world, "more importantly thanks to my own stakeholders, who plotted the most Machiavellian plot to get rid of the creator of the company". "Rajnish Kumar: Ex-chairman of State Bank of India. Invited to the board by Madhuri and me, he had shown enough early signs of wanting control and to make money out of BharatPe, which I ignored to my detriment," Grover said.

Claiming that his book has created panic among BharatPe executives and this is the reason the fintech company had slapped several cases against him and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover, Ashneer said that "just because your business has capital coming in from the US, you do not have to go by their concept of management - of not involving family in business".

Reacting to a follower on Twitter who asked for a free copy, Grover said: "Na bhai - business is business -- kitaab pehle aa gayi thi -- yeh case shase to isliye aaye kyun ki kitaab se sab ki fat li (My book came first and this triggered the cases against him as it created panic for all (at BharatPe)". He, however, did not mention BharatPe directly as to avoid the Delhi High Court's wrath where the hearing is currently on and the next date is in January.

In a tweet, Ashneer Grover said: "Doglapan: Shashvat (Co-Founder) to me. Bhai degree poori karni hai. Ek saal office bunk kar ke IIT poora kar leta hoon. Secondary kara dena aur salary bhi mat rokna - investor ko mat batana (Shashvat told me he has to complete an IIT degree so he wants to bunk office for 1 year to complete it. He asked me not to stop my salary and not inform investors either)."

The application also seeks direction to defendants to delete/remove within a period of five days all statements, tweets, social media posts, books, re-tweets, hashtags, videos, press conferences, interviews, comments, etc., made against the company and orders granting liberty to BharatPe to approach all social media platforms, media organisations, publications, websites, blogs, etc., to seek deletion/removal of all such material.

"BharatPe has initiated civil and criminal action against erstwhile Co-Founder and Managing Director, Ashneer Grover, former Head of Controls, Madhuri Jain Grover, and other connected parties of their family for various claims, including misappropriation of company funds," a company spokesperson told IANS.

While Aggarwal, who joined BharatPe in March 2020, will "start his own venture'", Jain and Malhotra are "also moving out to pursue their own entrepreneurial journey". At mid-level, Geetanshu Singla, VP-technology and Manas Poddar, programme manager at BharatPe, have also quit.
