Currently, the company is involved in a legal battle with Ashneer, after suing him and his family for allegedly siphoning off company funds worth Rs 88.6 crore. According to its financial statement filed with the Registrar of Company (RoC), its former CEO Suhail Sameer took home Rs 2.1 crore in FY22. Rajnish Kumar, BharatPe Chairman, received Rs 21.4 lakhs, while BharatPe board member Shashvat Nakrani was paid Rs 29.8 lakhs.

In FY21, the company had posted a net loss of Rs 1,619.2 crore. Apart from the CCPS cost, the company's adjusted loss grew 2.2 times to Rs 828.2 crore in FY22, from Rs 227.3 crore in the earlier fiscal year, according to its financial statement with the Registrar of Company (RoC).

The company said that the in-principle approval has been awarded to Resilient Payments Private Ltd, a 100 per cent owned subsidiary of Resilient Innovations Private Ltd (BharatPe). "At BharatPe, we have been committed to empowering offline merchants and kirana store owners in the country and have already built a network of 1 crore merchants across more than 400 cities," said Nalin Negi, CFO and interim CEO, BharatPe.

"Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, joined the AGM with the clear intent to disrupt the proceedings. Throughout the three-hour long meeting, Ashneer exhibited unruly, intimidating and threatening behaviour towards the authorised representatives and employees of BharatPe who were doing their best to fulfil the statutory obligations of the Company," the company spokesperson said in a statement.

Sameer, who will transition from the role of CEO to Strategic Advisor at BharatPe, effective from January 7, will "set up the fund I have been meaning to for the last couple of years". In a LinkedIn post, Sameer said that this will be a year of radical personal changes.

Current CFO Nalin Negi has been appointed as an interim CEO to partner with senior executives to strengthen the company's business, as the Board is actively searching for the new CEO. "On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank Sameer for the tremendous contribution he made in steering BharatPe into a leadership position as a fintech player in India and helping us ride through various challenges during this journey," Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, BharatPe Board, said in a statement.

Madhuri Jain Grover's Golden Dubai visa, issued in September 2021 and seen by IANS, clearly mentions her occupation as "House Wife" in the name "Madhuri Grover Suresh Jain" (Jain is Madhuri's father). At the time of visa issuing, Madhuri Jain was working at BharatPe as Head of Controls. She has been an entrepreneur since 2000 and worked as senior fashion designer for years, before joining BharatPe in 2018. At BharatPe, she managed, HR, finances and other internal operations.The 10-year Golden Dubai visa is a long-term residence visa which enables people to live, work or study in the UAE while enjoying exclusive benefits.

In a series of tweets, Grover posted a short audio interaction between Ankiti and him, where she can be heard discussing a 220-page report on Singapore-based fashion-tech startup Zilingo and the fraud allegations, which was never made public. Sequoia Capital India backed both BharatPe and Zilingo.

The options included Elon Musk's SpaceX, Uber Bhaiya if not cancel, and koi airport hi pahucha do (just drop me to the airport).

Koladiya this year moved on from the fintech company to pursue other assignments. "I was the only person who believed him and led him to attain redemption after his unsuccessful start in the US. I had allowed him to do a secondary of Rs 4 crore within months of starting BharatPe, when the company had raised only Rs 1.9 crore," Grover wrote in his book.
