American woman in India fakes physical assault, abuse to blackmail parents: Police
The victim-turned-accused was identified as Chloe Renee McLaughlin, who arrived in Delhi on May 3. The daughter of a former Army officer, she is a graduate and resides in Washington DC. Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, Amrutha Guguloth said the US Embassy had approached them, stating that the woman was assaulted and beaten by an unidentified individual known to her and is missing after reporting the incident to her family in the US.
'Jahangirpuri riot was continuation of CAA, NRC protests'
Delhi Police said, "From the investigation conducted so far and material on record, it is established that the present incident was in continuation of the protests against CAA and NRC of 2019 and 2020 in Shaheen Bagh and the north-east Delhi riots of February 2020, which got further aggravated after Ram Navami incidents on April 2022 in different parts of the country."

According to police, he has allegedly formatted his electronic devices and is refusing to hand them over to police despite being repeatedly asked. "Zubair was deliberately using religion to outrage a religious group. He was doing this to gain popularity," the police has alleged. The Special Cell has said that he was evasive and not cooperating with the officials.

Hate speech: FIRs against Nupur, Owaisi, Yati Narasimhananda & others
A senior police official said that those who have been named in the FIRs are former BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal and Nupur Sharma, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Shadab Chauhan, Saba Naqvi, Maulana Mufti Nadeem, Abdur Rehman, Gulzar Ansari and Swami Yati Narasimhananda. The official said one of the FIRs was lodged under sections 153, 295, 505 of IPC. In this FIR various leaders were named.
Delhi police probing death threats issued to Nupur Sharma
The country is facing major diplomatic outrage from several Middle East nations after BJP spokespersons -- Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal -- recently made derogatory references to Prophet Muhammad. "A complaint has been lodged by Nupur Sharma against various persons for issuing death threats to her," Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa said.
ED files FIR with Delhi Police against Kolkata Police officials
The ED had said there was fabrication in the court order and now has filed an FIR with the Delhi Police. Senior ED officials were earlier summoned by Kolkata Police in the matter pertaining to leaking of purported audio conversation between ED officials and the businessman. The ED had approached Delhi High Court seeking relief in the matter. Summons were issued again after Trinamool Congress leader Banerjee and his wife were asked to join the ED's probe in Delhi.
No explosives found in unattended bag in Delhi's Trilokpuri: Delhi Police
Confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East District) Priyanka Kashyap, who reached the spot to assess the situation, said both the bags were stolen from some person and they have identified him. "It contained no explosives," she stated. One of the bags contained a laptop while the other had personal belongings of its owner.

Major attack averted, says Gambhir as cops, NSG defuse IED in Delhi
Earlier in the day, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found concealed in an unattended bag in the Ghazipur Flower Market area which was defused by the bomb disposal squad of the National Security Guard. The bomb disposal squad with the help of police personnel dug an approximately 8 feet ditch in an open ground where the bag carrying the IED was disposed. "The NSG conducted a controlled explosion of the recovered IED at around 1.30 p.m.," an official said.
