Delhi's air quality to improve by November 1

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), twelve of the 35 pollution monitoring station in Delhi showed 'severe' air quality index reading. Delhi's Bawana area recorded the worst air quality index at 447, which falls in the 'severe' category.
Bad air days reduces in by 70, says Prakash Javadekar

"We (BJP) came to power in 2014 and we started keeping this (bad air day) count from 2016. In 2016, Delhi used to have 250 bad air days and now it has reduced by 70 days to 180," the minister said.

The India Meteorological Department says the spike in pollutants is a result of low wind speeds, along with an increase in stubble burning in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana.
