The ED produced Khan before Special Judge Rakesh Syal hours after he was arrested from his house and sought his custody for 10 days, stating he was needed to be confronted with other accused and evidence in the case.

The move of the LG put an end to speculations regarding the flag hoisting in the national capital, more so because Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would not be able to attend the event.

The development came a day after the environment minister met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Tihar Jail.

Addressing a news conference after the Apex Court granted him bail, Swaraj said it was the eighth attempt from Sisodia's legal team to get him bail.

As Sisodia emerged from the jail at 6:45 p.m., a sea of supporters who braved the rain welcomed him with rose petals and lifted him on their shoulders, raising "Inquilab Zindabad" slogans.

A bail bond of ₹10 lakh with two sureties was ordered by the court, surrender of his passport, and bi-weekly reporting to the Investigating Officer on Mondays and Thursdays. Mr. Sisodia has also been directed not to influence witnesses or tamper with evidence.

As per the current development, CM Kejriwal is presently being lodged at Tihar Jail in connection with corruption and money laundering probes into the alleged Delhi excise policy scandal.
