Lava announces Android 11 update for its smartphones
The update will be first rolled out for Z4, Z6, and MyZ models from July 25 onwards while Z2 users will receive the update in the subsequent months. Lava Z2, Z4, Z6 and My Z were launched together in January this year with stock Android 10 OS, the company said in a statement. The new software update will be released as an OTA to the users, who will receive a notification once it reaches them.
Facebook Pay arrives on third-party online shopping platforms
Currently, the Facebook Pay system is available for users on its main platform, as well as on WhatsApp and Instagram. "Starting this August, businesses in the US who use participating platforms will have the ability to enable Facebook Pay as a payment option directly on their websites, giving their customers the ability to speed through checkout without having to re-enter their payment information," the company said in a statement

Intel in 'talks' to acquire GlobalFoundries for $30 bn: Report
According to a report in The Wall Street Journal citing sources, "It isn't guaranteed one (the deal) will come together, and GlobalFoundries could proceed with a planned initial public offering". bBoth GlobalFoundries and Intel (which have a market value of nearly $225 billion) have denied any suck talks. Xiaomi grabs 2nd spot in global smartphone shipments for 1st time

Chinese hackers behind new SolarWinds software attack: Microsoft
A Microsoft Threat Intelligence Centre (MSTIC) team detected a zero-day remote code execution exploit, being used to attack SolarWinds Serv-U FTP software in limited and targeted attacks. "MSTIC attributes this campaign with high confidence to DEV-0322, a group operating out of China, based on observed victimology, tactics, and procedures," the company said in an update on Wednesday.
