Clubhouse launches new messaging system Backchannel
Invite-only audio chat app Clubhosue is launching its messaging system -- Backchannel -- for the users on both iOS and Android. The company said that Backchannel has both 1:1 and group chat and an optional second inbox for message requests. "If you're a speaker, you can use Backchannel to chat with your co-hosts, plan what question to ask next, or decide who to pull up from the audiencen" the company said in a statement.
Battlegrounds Mobile India esports with Rs 1 cr prize begins July 19
The registrations for the tournament kicks off on July 19 and the event would have five stages spanning over three months. The video game developer has announced a prize pool of Rs 1 crore for this inaugural series. "Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 attempts to offer a platform to the beloved players of Battlegrounds in India to showcase their skills on the grand stage," the company said in a statement.
Facebook plans to invest $1 billion to empowering creators
Facebook has announced that it is planning to invest over $1 billion in programmes that give creators new ways to earn money for the content they create on Facebook and Instagram. This investment will include new bonus programmes that pay eligible creators for hitting certain milestones when they use creative and monetisation tools.
After Amazon, Facebook doesn't want Lina Khan to probe antitrust case
According to a Wall Street Journal report, Facebook has sought the recusal of the FTC Chair "from the agency's deliberations on whether to file a new antitrust case against the company". After Amazon, Facebook has also said that the Lina Khan-led US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) shouldn't decide the future of its antitrust case.
Netflix launches two new kid-friendly features
While Kids Top 10 will be launched on Wednesday, the Kids Recap Email will hit parents inboxes biweekly starting July 16. The Kids Recap Email will roll out globally to all members who have one active kids profile set up on their account, and Kids Top 10 will roll out across devices (except AppleTV) in 93 countries. The Kids Top 10 rows feature the most popular children's content.
boAt unveils its 1st gaming headphone at Rs 2,499
The gaming headphone is available in two colours -- black and white sabre -- on Amazon and the boAt website. "We are very excited to launch our very first gaming headphone -- the Immortal 1000D in India," Sameer Mehta, Co-Founder, boAt, said in a statement. With Dolby Atmos available on the boAt Immortal 1000D, players will be able to unlock incredible immersive audio.

Logistics startup Shyplite unveils AI service to help Indian sellers
Logistics startup Shyplite on Wednesday introduced AI-driven Shypmax, a cross-border logistics platform-as-a-service (LPaaS) that would help automate processes and increase shipping efficiency for the Indian businesses and sellers in the pandemic times. The company said that Shypmax is now live for deliveries to over 40 countries and will cover delivery to 220 nations with over 70 carrier and network partnerships globally.
Samsung, Tesla sign $436 mn deal for Cybertruck cameras: Report
According to a report in Sam Mobile, the South Korean tech giant will supply the biggest electric car manufacturer in the US with its camera modules. Samsung's camera modules will be used by Tesla's latest electric vehicle that was unveiled in November 2019, the reports claimed. The prototype vehicle showcased on stage wasn't equipped with conventional rearview mirrors.
