Snap acquires 3D AR solutions provider Vertebrae
"We're thrilled to join Snap, where we will strengthen and scale our world class 3D asset platform for retailers and brands," Vertebrae CEO Vince Cacace told The Verge. Vertebrae has raised about $10 million in venture funding to date, and has Toyota, Adidas and some other well-known brands as clients. The startup also worked with Facebook on AR shopping tech in 2019.

Tencent acquires UK-based video game firm Sumo Group for $1.27 bn
Sumo has developed Sony's PlayStation 5 launch title ‘Sackboy: A Big Adventure' and Microsoft's ‘Crackdown 3' for Xbox consoles and PC. Tencent already has a 8.75 percent stake in Sumo, reports gamesindustry.biz. "The three founders of Sumo, who work in the business, Paul Porter, Darren Mills and I are passionate about what we do and are fully committed to continuing in our roles," Sumo CEO Carl Cavers said in a statement.
Huawei to launch flagship P50 smartphone on July 29
The company announced the P50 launch on its account on Chinese social media platform Weibo. Samsung launches upgraded modular 'The Wall' display

LG Electronics unveils new compact sound bar for $790
LG Eclair will be launched in North America later this month and will hit the shelves in major European and Asian countries. In South Korea, the premium sound bar comes with a price tag of 899,000 won ($790). The latest product, which was honoured at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, is about one-third the size of a regular sound bar as its width is less than 30 cm, reports Yonhap news agency
Honor 'Magic 3' series to feature Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset
Reports have claimed that the lineup includes two handsets namely, Magic 3 and Magic 3 Pro. The vanilla model would start at around CNY 4,000 while the beefier Pro variant will ask for CNY 5,000. According to GizmoChina, Honor has already announced that they will feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset for faster and best-in-class performance.
