Netizens slam new Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal over old tweet on racism
In 2010, when he was not even an employee of Twitter, Agrawal quoted a comedian mocking racism and Islamophobia in America. "If they are not gonna make a distinction between Muslims and extremists, then why should I distinguish between white people and racists," Agrawal said in the tweet posted on October 26, 2010. Questioning this, Republican Ken Buck, who represents Colorado's Fourth Congressional District, asked how users could trust Twitter's new CEO to treat everyone equally.

UK competition regulatory board likely to block Meta's Giphy deal: Report
Tech giant Meta which was previously known as Facebook had moved to buy Gift in May 2020, however, the UK competition regulator has raised concerns in regard to the deal and provisionally ruled in August that Meta should be forced to sell Giphy, as per financial times report. The regulators will be making their final call regarding this matter by December 1, it added.

"Not sure anyone has heard, but I resigned from Twitter," Dorsey said in his latest tweet. Dorsey gave three reasons for his resignation -- 1) Appointment of Parag Agrawal as Twitter CEO; 2) Bret Taylor agreeing to be Board chairman; 3) All members of the Board have the potential to change the course of the company for the better. Dorsey will remain a member of the Board until his term expires at the 2022 meeting of stockholders.
PC shipments in China grew 3% to reach over 15 mn units in Q3
Compared to last year, desktop (including desktop workstation) shipments grew 3.8 per cent to 5.3 million units. Notebook (including mobile workstation) shipments were also slightly up by 1.9 per cent at 9.7 million units, according to market research firm Canalys. The growth resulted in a record third-quarter shipment in China, beating a year-old record of 14.7 million unit shipments in Q3 2020.

China's mobile phone shipments reach 282 mn units in Jan-Oct
In October, the country's mobile phone shipments surged 28.4 percent year on year to nearly 33.58 million units, said the CAICT, a research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. A total of 26 new models were released last month, up 4 per cent from a year earlier, the data showed.
