Wimbledon 2024: Nagal vs. Kecmanovic and Swiatek's Challenge Against Kenin

India’s Sumit Nagal is set to debut in the Wimbledon main draw against Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic, marking his second consecutive Grand Slam appearance without needing qualifiers. He follows in the footsteps of Prajnesh Gunneswaran, the last Indian to compete in the men’s singles main draw in 2019.

Meanwhile, World number 1 Iga Swiatek faces a tough start against American Sofia Kenin in the first round of the women’s singles at Wimbledon 2024.

Defending champion Marketa Vondrousova, seeded sixth and in Swiatek's quarter of the draw, will confront Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.

In men’s singles action, reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz, seeded third, meets Estonian qualifier Mark Lajal and shares the draw half with top seed Jannik Sinner.

Italy’s Sinner starts his campaign against German Yannick Hanfmann, while Britain’s two-time winner Andy Murray faces Czech Tomas Machac in what may be his final singles appearance at his home Grand Slam, following recent spinal cyst surgery.

Seven-time champion Novak Djokovic, seeded second, takes on Czech qualifier Vit Kopriva. Germany’s fourth seed Alex Zverev begins against Spain’s Roberto Carballes Baena.

In the women’s singles, second seed Coco Gauff faces Caroline Dolehide in an all-American clash, while third seed Aryna Sabalenka could meet Gauff in the semi-finals, starting against American Emina Bektas.

Among other notable matchups, Grand Slam champions Victoria Azarenka and Sloane Stephens go head-to-head, and British wildcard Emma Raducanu, the 2021 U.S. Open champion, challenges Russian 22nd seed Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Britain’s new men’s number one Jack Draper, seeded for the first time, starts against Swedish qualifier Elias Ymer.

Action at Wimbledon kicks off with Spain’s Alcaraz opening proceedings on Centre Court on Monday.

Vondrousova, who became the first unseeded champion in 2018 by defeating Ons Jabeur, begins her title defense on Tuesday, hoping to recover fully from a recent hip injury suffered in Berlin.
