PCB Denies Plans for Offshore T20I Series with India

There is no such proposal on the table or under consideration because right now the biggest challenge for us is to organize the Champions Trophy in a proper manner and we also have a packed international schedule," said a reliable source.

The Pakistan Cricket Board clarified its stand on Monday, stating no proposal has gone in to host an offshore T20I series against India, while focusing on the Champions Trophy, which should go off well. There were reports about discussions between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the BCCI officials regarding the proposed series in either England or Australia, but they don't seem to have translated into any formal proposal.

The PCB was looking to confirm budgetary approval for the Champions Trophy, while seeking assurances from the ICC and BCCI about India's participation in Pakistan during its campaign at recent ICC meetings in Colombo.

The bilateral series between the two nations has remained suspended since 2012 after Pakistan's short visit to India for limited-overs matches. No Test series has been played between the two nations since Pakistan toured India in 2007.

Still, there is speculation over India's participation in Champions Trophy with reports claiming the chances of their matches being staged outside Pakistan.
