The Board of Control for Cricket in India has promised huge financial help to Indian athletes heading to the Paris Olympics. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that it would contribute Rs 8.5 crore to the IOA towards supporting the campaign of the national contingent at the games commencing on July 26.
In a statement, Shah said he was proud of the move and reiterated BCCI's commitment to continuing to support such remarkable athletes who do India proud at the global level. Financial support underlines BCCI's support for 117 athletes to take part in the Paris Olympics, with a supporting team of 140 members to be a strong, 257-member contingent.
Shah has asked every member of the Indian contingent to do their best, excel and win laurels for the country. The strong message ended the letter: "Make India proud! Jai Hind!"
