Huge boost for India cricketers in latest ICC T20I rankings; Babar Azam stays No.1 batter
India cruised to a 4-1 series triumph in the recently-completed T20I series against the West Indies and several of their best performers cut into Babar's lead at the top of the batter rankings.
Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant were among the biggest movers as the race for the top ranking hots up ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later this year. Iyer hit an impressive half-century during the fifth and final match of the series in Florida and was duly rewarded by jumping six places to 19th overall on the batter rankings.

Manisha Kalyan and Sunil Chhetri have been named as the 2021-22 AIFF Women's Footballer of the Year and the 2021-22 Men's Footballer of the Year, respectively. The two stalwarts were nominated as winners by their respective national team coaches Thomas Dennerby, and Igor Stimac. While Manisha had won the Women's Emerging Footballer of the Year for last season, while this is the 7th time that Sunil won the award, having last won it in 2018-19.
Chess Olympiad: Uzbekistan wins Open section gold, Ukraine in Women's section
The 14th-seeded Uzbekistan team won the gold medal while Armenia and India-2 team won the silver and bronze in the Open section of the 44th Chess Olympiad held here, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) said. According to FIDE, Ukraine is the winner of the gold in the women's section. The India-2 team, composed of young players, won against Germany in the 11th and final round 3-1.
