In the absence of 2018 Asian Games champion Jinson Johnson, Saroj didn't face any challenge from his rivals on Monday. Saroj shot into lead early in the race and was leading the group of three runners at the bell. He stretched the lead on the home straight to win the gold with a time of 3:42.55 secs. Shashi Bhushan Singh of West Bengal won silver with a time of 3:44.19 secs.
Merlier wins crash-ridden third stage of Tour de France

The third stage witnessed many crashes as Welshman Geraint Thomas and Slovenian Primoz Roglic, both favourites, lost time after falls during the stage. Caleb Ewan of Australia and Peter Sagan of Slovakia also crashed during the closing stages of the day's race. However, it was the first-ever Tour stage win for 28-year-old Merlier.
Rahi wins gold in 25m pistol event at World Cup

BCCI willing to wait on decision to include 2 franchises for IPL 2022

"We are looking to have two franchises in next year's IPL but we will have to see the market and also assess the situation prevailing in the country. We can't guarantee a timeline because there are a lot of things we have to consider," said Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer Arun Dhumal to IANS on Monday. Second seed Aryna opens Wimbledon with easy win over qualifier

T20 World Cup in UAE as BCCI confirms it can't host it

"We had a meeting of office-bearers today (on Monday). We decided that it will be impossible to host the T20 World Cup amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. There are talks of a third wave. So, it would be highly risky. We will soon inform the ICC about our decision," Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajiv Shukla told IANS on Monday.
