India slip in ICC rankings after WTC final loss

France, who had the talismanic Zinedine Zidane in their midst in those days, had won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and then followed it up with the Euro 2000 title. The current team, full of biggest stars of contemporary times, though expected to coast to title, fell at the Round of 16 stage against Switzerland.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant (752) slipped a spot to seventh position in rankings for Test batsmen while Rohit Sharma (759) held on to his sixth position. Besides Pant and Sharma, skipper Virat Kohli (812) occupies the fourth position. Altogether, Indians occupy three of the top 10 positions in rankings for Test batsmen, one out of 10 in bowling rankings list and two in the ranking for all-rounders.
Wimbledon 2021: Serena Williams retires from Wimbledon opener after injury

Arriving on court with her right thigh heavily strapped, the No.6 seed was leading Aliaksandra by a break in the first set at 3-1. Serving at 15-15, Serena slipped briefly at the back of the court and was finally forced to retire in the seventh game. While she never fell to the ground, Serena requested for a physio after losing serve in the fifth game, and received off-court medical timeout before returning to the court.
Euro 2020: Ukraine's extra-time winner knocks Sweden out

Euro 2020: England beat Germany to enter quarter-finals

Sterling scored in the 75th minute, converting a a low cross from Luke Shaw. Kane and Jack Grealish played the ball out wide to Shaw, whose low cross went straight to Sterling who slotted the ball in. England were not yet as eleven minutes later -- in the 86th -- Kane converted a cross from Grealish.
Wimbledon 2021: Lucky Federer enters Round 2 after opponent gets injured

The 39-year-old, who has won 20 Grand Slam titles, bagged the first set 6-4 before losing the next two 6-7(3) and 3-6. He came back to win the fourth 6-2 in a games that lasted two hours and 44 minutes. World No. 41 Mannarino, who was able to get through to the fourth set with the injury before pulling out, had slipped behind the baseline which led to the injury. He also received on-court treatment on the knee.
