IPL 2021: Lewis, Thomas replace Buttler, Stokes in RR squad

Lewis, who has played 45 T20Is and 57 ODIs for West Indies and has previously played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, will replace Jos Buttler. Thomas, who has played 20 ODIs and 17 T20Is for Windies and has previously represented Rajasthan Royals in the 2019 edition, has come in for Ben Stokes. Dale Steyn, who could make the ball swerve at will, retires

BCCI issues tender for two new IPL franchises

"The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids to acquire the right to own and operate 1 (one) of the 2 (two) new teams proposed to be introduced to take part in the Indian Premier League from the IPL 2022 season, through a tender process," the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement. The deadline for the purchase of tender document is October 5.
Asian Youth & Junior Boxing: India end campaign with record 39 medals

According to information received here, Preeti Dahiya and three other Indian youth women pugilists emerged champions on the final day of the competition. India had already won 19 medals, including eight gold, five silver and six bronze medals, in the junior event played earlier. The youth boxers added 20 more medals (six gold, nine silver and five bronze) to India's tally.
