US women win seventh consecutive Olympic basketball gold

The US have won nine gold medals in the past 10 Olympic Games dating back to 1984. The silver medal is also the best result for hosts Japan, whose previous best, fifth placing, came at the 1976 Montreal in Canada. It also ties the best Olympic result in Asian women's basketball as the second place, as China won the silver medal in 1992, reports Xinhua.
1st Test: Bumrah's five-for keeps victory within India's sight

Bumrah's haul helped visitors bowl out England for 303 in the second innings. India, chasing a target of 209 runs, had reached 52 for the loss of opener K.L. Rahul's wicket at the draw of stumps on fourth day. India have never managed to chase 200 runs in England in the fourth innings of a Test. Brazil missed the chance in the first half to take a lead.
