Woakes returns to England squad, Buttler to miss fourth Test
While Woakes' return is a welcome boost for England, they will be without the services of Jos Buttler. The wicketkeeper-batsman is awaiting the birth of his second child, and has been replaced in the squad by Sam Billings. England head coach Chris Silverwood said the seamer would further strengthen their pace unit while also offering value with the bat.
Queensland to host India's multi-format series against Australia
The seven-game series -- three ODIs, one Test match and three T20s -- had been scheduled to begin in Sydney on September 19. The series would then have moved to Melbourne and Perth before returning to Sydney. But COVID-19 enforced restrictions meant that the entire series had to be shifted to Queensland. With the Allan Border Field unavailable due to renovation works, the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay will host the ODIs on September 21, 24 and 26, two days later than the scheduled start of the series.

Avani became the first Indian female athlete to win a gold medal in either the Olympics or the Paralympics when the 19-year-old shot a world record score of 249.6 in the finals of the air rifle event in Tokyo. Before her, shot-putter Deepa Malik (2016 Rio) and para-table tennis player Bhavina Patel (2020 Tokyo) were the most decorated Indian female sportspersons at the Paralympics.

Unhalkar had qualified seventh for the final but had jumped to the top spot after shooting 102.1 in the first 10 shots in the final. He produced six consecutive scores of 10 or more as he led the standings with the second elimination round well underway. But disaster struck in the fourth series of two shots as he could manage only 9.9 and 9.5 and slumped out of medal contention.

Inzamam wants Kohli, Pujara, Rahane to get big hundreds

Pujara scored 91 in the second innings in the third Test at Headingley while Kohli scored 55. The 42-year-old Vinod, who took up para-athletics in his 30s, cleared 19.91 in the seated/standing discus throw event on his fifth effort. He finished third behind Poland's gold medallist Piotr Kosewicz (20.02m) and Croatia's Velimir Sandor (19.98). At one stage, the 42-year-old from Rohtak in Haryana was placed second before Sandor cleared 19.98 in his fifth throw to take the silver medal.
Paralympics: Nishad wins silver in high jump, second medal for India on Sunday
Nishad finished second behind Roderick Townsend of the United States, who set a world record by clearing 2 metres and 15 centimetres. The 21-year-old Nishad who hails from Una in Himachal Pradesh started with 1.89 metres which he cleared easily. He cleared 1.94 in his second effort and 1.98 in his third jump. His best effort of 2.06 came in his fifth jump.
