Paralympics: Nagar, Yathiraj help India end Tokyo 2020 campaign with 19 medals
On Sunday, the final day of the Tokyo Paralympic Games, India claimed two medals -- a gold and a silver in badminton -- and finished 24th among 162 nations in the overall medal tally on the basis of gold medal count, while it is placed 20th based on the number of medals (19) it won. Krishna Nagar in Men's Singles SH6 class, won India's lone gold medal on Sunday.

Bhagat, a native of Bihar's Hajipur town in Vaishali district had natural talent in sports. "He used to beat any person in the city during his childhood. When he was just five years old, he became a polio victim. As our financial state was not good and my sister Kishuni Devi and her husband Kailash Bhagat did not have a child, they adopted Pramod and took him to Bhubaneswar," said Rama Bhagat.

Paralympic shooting: Babu misses spot in final by 0.2 points
Babu finished ninth in the qualifying stage with a score of 617.2 while China's Dong Chao took the eighth and last qualifying spot with a score of 617.4 points. Babu, a kickboxing instructor and a black belt in the sport who suffers from paraplegia as the result of a motorcycle accident in 2002, had scores of 103.3, 101.3, 102.8, 103.5, and 103.3 in the six series as he finished ninth.

On the penultimate day of the track and field event, the Chinese set a number of records. Deng Peicheng, making his Paralympic debut, won the men's 100m of T36 class in 11.85 seconds, setting a Paralympic record. "I just gave all of my power," he was quoted as saying by Xinhua. "Without this kind of power, I couldn't even get into the top three. I concentrated on every step in order to win."
