Cricket Australia (CA) issued a statement on Friday morning saying the batter had tested positive for Covid-19 "following a routine PCR test". "Head is asymptomatic and will remain in Melbourne and isolate with his partner for seven days in line with Victorian Government Health requirements. He will be unavailable for selection for the fourth Vodafone men's Ashes Test, starting at the SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground) on January 5," said Cricket Australia.
BCCI postpones U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy after surge in COVID-19 cases
In a letter to the affiliated units of BCCI, the Indian cricket board's secretary Jay Shah said that the domestic cricket had started off well, with the completion of 748 matches till date, however, the sudden spike in cases has forced the board to postpone its junior tournament. China bans tattoos in national football team
The General Administration of Sport (GAS) has gone a step further than it did in 2018 when players were forced to cover up tattoos to continue playing. In their latest move, GAS has outlawed tattoos altogether and wants any player with pre-existing tattoos to get them removed in order to 'set a good example' for the Chinese society, the report said.
