The Indian football team hangs on to the 124th spot in the rankings of FIFA, remaining unchanged from earlier, despite a miserable performance in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
The same side's hard times went on after facing defeats against Qatar and Afghanistan, a result that led them to slide three places down in the rankings of the month of June. India's slide started in December last year when it got into the top 100 for a month with the 99th rank.
The country currently stands at the 22nd position in Asia, with Lebanon, Palestine, and Vietnam being ahead.
Meanwhile, Argentina now completely tightens its stay at the summit following another successful title retention in the Copa America. France stays at runner-up, with EURO 2024 semi-finalists Brazil also in that position despite a highly impressive run to that stage of the competition.
Recent European champions Spain complete the top three, while England swaps places with them to go fourth. Completing the first eight are Belgium, the Netherlands, and Portugal. Colombia advances to make a highly noteworthy return to the top 10 despite losing to the last Copa América.
