With the Bihar Assembly elections of 2025 nearing, politics is getting more intense with an intense battle among parties.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has increased its attack on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Yadav by issuing a new video named 'Ghotalebaz' (scamster), charging the father-son duo with involvement in many corruption scams.
The more than three-minute-long video, made using AI-generated visual effects, directs its barbs at Lalu and Tejashwi, accusing them of being at the center of numerous high-profile cases, including the notorious fodder scam and the present IRCTC land-for-job scandal.
The viral video, which has sparked a frenzy of activity on social media, makes a blistering, satirical attack on RJD leadership, rekindling controversies over their past corruption cases.
BJP leader Arvind Kumar Singh said, "This video reveals Lalu Yadav's role in one scam after another, and it brings out how Tejashwi turned crorepati even though he was just a minor. The youth should get to know the truth."
To this, RJD leader Mritunjay Tiwari retaliated against the BJP, saying, "The BJP has no moral grounds to complain about corruption. Their double-engine government is tainted with corruption and crime. Let them respond about the Srijan scam, the Muzaffarpur shelter home scandal, and the collapsed bridges in the NDA regime."
Tiwari also blamed the BJP for employing the corruption narrative as a means of steering attention away from their failure in governance, emphasizing that the people have not forgotten the scandals and mismanagement during the NDA.
Though Lalu Prasad's limited political activity because of persistent health and legal problems, the course of the RJD is increasingly being charted by Tejashwi Yadav. Nevertheless, the specter of the IRCTC land-for-job scam from Lalu's Railway Minister days still looms large over the party.
A number of members of the Yadav family, such as Lalu's wife Rabri Devi, son Tej Pratap, and daughter Misa Bharti, are being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
As the war of words politically intensifies, all eyes are now set on the strategies, alliances, and narratives that will shape the coming 2025 elections in Bihar.
