The Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) officially joined the Mahagathbandan led by the RJD in Bihar, marking a significant development ahead of the upcoming elections. As part of the alliance, VIP has been granted the opportunity to contest from the Gopalganj, Jhanjharpur, and Motihari Lok Sabha constituencies.
Speaking at a joint press conference, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav hailed the inclusion of Mukesh Sahani's party, emphasizing Sahani's longstanding dedication to advocating for the rights of the extremely backward caste community in Bihar. Yadav expressed a warm welcome to Sahani and highlighted the importance of unity within the grand alliance.
Under the seat-sharing arrangement within the INDIA bloc, the Congress has secured 9 seats, while the Left parties have been allocated 5 seats, leaving 26 seats for the RJD. Additionally, the RJD has decided to allocate 3 seats from its own quota to the VIP, underscoring the collaborative spirit of the alliance.
Asserting confidence in the alliance's prospects, Yadav dismissed claims of overwhelming victory elsewhere in the country, vowing to secure a decisive outcome in Bihar. He emphasized that the alliance is not solely focused on the Lok Sabha elections but intends to extend its collaboration into the forthcoming Assembly elections as well.
In his address, Sahani invoked the legacy of Lalu Prasad Yadav, highlighting his commitment to championing the cause of the poor and marginalized communities in the state. Sahani lamented the lack of support from the Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand governments for the Nishad community, contrasting it with the proactive measures taken by other states.
Pledging full-fledged support to the INDIA bloc, Sahani announced VIP's decision to contest on all 40 seats in Bihar, reaffirming their allegiance to the RJD, Congress, and Left parties. He expressed optimism about the upcoming elections, predicting a resounding victory for the alliance across the state.
