Trinamool MLA's Remarks Spark Controversy Over Ram Temple

Expressing his sentiments at a public gathering, Sinha Roy stated, "I believe that no Indian Hindu should visit the Ram Mandir, which, in my opinion, holds no sanctity and serves merely as a spectacle."

A heated political dispute has erupted in West Bengal following the circulation of a video featuring the Trinamool Congress legislator from Tarakeswar Assembly constituency in Hooghly district. In the video, the legislator can be heard referring to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, as an "unholy" place and merely a "showpiece."

In response to these remarks, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, condemned the comments and vowed to file a police report against the individual for "causing offense to Hindus worldwide with such inflammatory statements."

Adhikari further criticized the Trinamool Congress, accusing its leaders of attacking Hindu sentiments and denouncing the revered Ram Temple as unholy. The leader of the opposition shared the incriminating video on his social media platform.

Sinha Roy, who serves as both the MLA for Tarakeswar and the president of the Arambagh organisational district within the ruling party, has not provided any comments on the controversy despite several attempts by IANS to reach out to him.
