Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said no saint, mahatma, or yogi is ever power-hungry; rather they inspire society to follow in their footsteps.
While saying this, all the achievements and sadhana of saints and sanyasis lie in national interest, social interest, and human welfare. Similarly, 425 years ago, Baba Keenaram had presented the same ideals to everyone through divine meditation. Because foreign invaders succeeded in dividing the country and society, the country became a slave, said the Chief Minister while speaking at the 425th incarnation ceremony organised at the birthplace of Aghoracharya Baba Keenaram.
He paid obeisance to Baba Keenaram and said that though his program was scheduled for Sonbhadra, because of divine grace, he got the privilege of coming to the birthplace of Baba Keenaram.
He spoke of Baba Keenaram as a divine soul from birth in an aristocracy, who attained spiritual enlightenment with intense practice and meditation.
Despite his elevated status and spiritual achievements, Baba Keenaram used to apply his powers not for his benefits but for the nation and its people," the Chief Minister said.
The CM underlined that Baba Keenaram did the fundamental work of bringing Dalits, tribals, and different sections of society together in order to create a feeling of brotherhood and nondiscrimination, which was not possible except by a saint, Aghoracharya, or Yogi.
The Chief Minister reflected on the life of Baba Keenaram: though from a lineage of aristocrats, his holiness founded a series of programs dedicated to uplifting standards among tribal communities and locals. He also rebelled against the Mughlai rulers, especially Shah Jahan, to show his strength and independence from political power.
These acts prove that a true saint or yogi is never at the mercy of any authority. Many miracles are associated with his name, and he built Kriin Kund in Kashi, where he integrated the essences of different spiritual traditions from all over India. Anyone who goes there will still know the clarity and strength of his spirit, he further said.
He further stated that when a medical college was proposed at Chandauli, party MPs and MLAs had suggested naming it after Baba Keenaram. He agreed to it, recognizing the college as a suitable memory of the Baba which would contribute to the health and well-being of the public.
He said that all achievements were possible only by the inspiration of Baba and he was also happy to visit a place which opens its door for people from all sections of society.
The social reform work initiated by Baba Keenaram is still carried on by the Aghor Peeth, which includes promoting remarriage of widows, educating women, taking care of leprosy patients, upliftment of poor and downtrodden.
The guiding spirit at work should be nation first." The Chief Minister also called for the orientation of all actions towards serving the nation.
The programme was attended by Aghoracharya Baba Siddharth Gautam Ram, former Union Minister and former MP of Chandauli Mahendra Nath Pandey, Rajya Sabha MP Darshna Singh, Sadhna Singh, MLA Sushil Singh, Kailash Kharwar, Ramesh Jaiswal, Surya Mani Tripathi, District Panchayat President Bhimanand Sharma, BJP District President Kashinath Singh, apart from devotees associated with Baba Keenaram's Aghorpeeth.
