Revanth Reddy Questions KCR's Commitment to Democracy Amidst Congress MLA Poaching

Reddy criticized KCR and BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao for their unfounded allegations, asserting that Congress had not betrayed the public or undermined democratic principles as the BRS leaders had. Speaking at a Congress workers' meeting in Mahabubnagar, Reddy questioned KCR's record of poaching Congress MLAs over the past decade.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy questioned Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrasekhar Rao (commonly known as KCR) on his commitment to democracy, highlighting that Rao had previously induced Congress MLAs to defect to his party during his tenure as Chief Minister.

Reddy also reminded that KCR once claimed the Congress government would collapse within 100 days, countering KCR and KTR’s earlier accusations against Congress for engineering defections of seven BRS MLAs and six MLCs to the ruling party.

Predicting a bleak political future for the former Chief Minister, Reddy suggested that KCR should either contribute to the state’s progress or retire to his farmhouse. He also alleged that KTR and Harish Rao had been in Delhi for the past four days seeking a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Reddy criticized those calling for the postponement of the District Selection Committee (DSC) exam for teacher recruitment, accusing vested interests of attempting to delay the process. He claimed that coaching center mafias were conspiring to postpone the exams, while his government remained dedicated to providing employment opportunities to the youth.

He accused KCR of inciting youth whenever his party’s influence waned, claiming that BRS leaders were exploiting students for political gain. Challenging KTR and Harish Rao to undertake a hunger strike for the postponement of exams, Reddy argued it was unfair for only poor students and their leaders to protest in this manner.

Reddy emphasized that postponing the exams would not harm the government but stressed that their priority was to prevent further suffering for unemployed youth. He also suggested that opposition parties were behind the demand to allow 100 candidates per post for the Group-I main exams, noting that any changes to the notification could lead to legal challenges and delays.

As local body elections approach, Reddy urged party workers to intensify their efforts.
